$190,000.00/yr - $275,000.00/yr About Us We are a purpose-built biomarker discovery organization headquartered in San Diego, CA providing industry leading services for supporting pharmaceutical R&D to move “beyond the genome”, including proteomics, metabolomics, and lipidomics data generation and analysis. We leverage high-throughput technologies, backed by an advanced data and analytics framework, to rapidly measure and analyze thousands of dynamic biomarkers per sample. Our methods enable efficient, large-scale profiling beyond the genome and deliver new disease insights to accelerate therapeutic development. We are a highly collaborative team of passionate scientists, clinicians, engineers, and operators with expertise in various disciplines, committed to innovating with scientific rigor. About the Role: As our Head of Finance, Planning, and Analysis, you will be a trusted leader in our finance and accounting team, responsible for working with the CEO and other department leaders to execute against companywide goals and responsibilities including budgeting, forecasting, financial planning and analysis, and other growth-oriented tasks. We are a rapidly growing company, and we are looking for people who move swiftly and think independently. You will work directly with our executive leadership team, board, and external parties to lead key drivers of growth and improve efficiencies, adding value across the organization. Responsibilities include: Lead the end-to-end annual budgeting and revenue forecasting processes, working across departments to develop the budget, track progress and variances during the year, owning key leadership decisions on cost structure as growth plans are executed Work with functional leaders including business development, marketing, lab operations, and others to identify and report key measures of optimization and efficiency in the business Drive all financial planning and analysis efforts to identify growth opportunities and cost efficiencies, including optimizing pricing and margins across service lines. Support organic and inorganic innovation initiatives through financial modeling Lead longer-term and annual organizational and strategic planning processes to drive business scalability and growth through new business opportunities, strategic investments, and organizational optimization Develop and evolve KPIs and metrics to track ongoing business performance, including for recurring weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting to the executive leadership team and board, quantifying market signals and client traction for scaling client service and value creation Lead pipeline and backlog reporting, including evaluating integrity of CRM data, together with business development team Work with in-house analytics and software development teams to identify and develop key uses for KPI data from operations Mindset of continuous improvement to evolve existing ERP and management information systems Qualifications: ● Finance, economics, or related degree quantitative degree with 10+ years of work experience in investment banking, advisory / consulting, FP&A, corporate finance ● Prior experience managing and / or evaluating budgeting and forecasting processes ● MBA and / or investment banking experience (2+yrs) ● Prior experience working with PE/VC investors is a plus ● Advanced analytical and modeling skills with deep experience in Excel and financial modeling, willingness to utilize and apply other data analysis applications as you see fit ● Familiarity with ERP and CRM systems (Netsuite, Salesforce), and ability to work with in-house software team to develop bespoke applications and KPIs ● Concise and thoughtful verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with the board ● A hands-on, take-charge financial professional with strong financial and analytical skills ● Highest level of integrity and dependability comfortable working in a deadline-based environment What awaits you ● Join a dynamic, forward-thinking organization where your experience and strategic leadership will shape the future of the post-genomic revolution ● Partner with and inspire a talented team in a collaborative and innovative environment ● Contribute to groundbreaking biopharmaceutical projects that have a positive impact on countless lives Seniority level
