Specifically as a Configuration Architect at Altera, you will be responsible for the overall configuration architecture for FPGAs. You will be both the thought leader and decision maker for the overall configuration of FPGA devices. This is a broad leadership role within the organization and spans a wide array of topics and technologies from hardware, firmware & security. This role requires experience with and a deep understanding of device configuration architectures, silicon design, firmware architecture and security.
This role requires working cross functionally and the ability to influence cross functional organizations, be able to technically lead a team of senior engineers to define the next generation architecture. You will need to make tradeoffs between hardware and firmware, managing both hardware and firmware flexibility understand customer use models, performance implications of tradeoffs. Experience of working with Network-on-chip IP and processors is a plus.
Salary Range
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor within the US market. Actual salary may vary based on a number of factors including job location, job-related knowledge, skills, experiences, trainings, etc. We also offer incentive opportunities that reward employees based on individual and company performance.

Qualifications
The successful candidate’s minimum qualifications will include the following:
BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent Strong understanding of Hardware and Firmware Design, with a minimum of 15+ years of experience in design and architecture Experience in configuration architecture for ASIC, CPU or FPGA, FPGA being desired. Demonstrable experience working in a complex cross functional environment Demonstrable experience in security architectures
