The Manager, Business Development - Restructuring is responsible for working with Business Development Directors to support strategic plans and objectives for selected practice groups, client/industry groups, and Partners. This role manages relationships and serves as a resource assisting with related communications, administration, research and reporting, marketing communications, coordination of projects, and leads implementation efforts of strategic plans to ensure successful growth and consistency regarding the Firm’s key business initiatives.

Responsibilities
Assist in the development and implementation of strategies to cultivate business with existing and new clients Conduct market/business intelligence research on existing and prospective clients and competitors to inform targeted business development efforts Conduct internal research to identify connections across practice groups in order to facilitate global cross-selling with existing clients Support Business Development Operations with presentation development, pitches and responses to RFPs for new business. Research and recommend conferences, events, sponsorships, galas, and activities that can raise the profile of the firm. Fully coordinate, plan and execute events, sponsorships, and client facing continuing legal education opportunities. This would include budgeting, venue research, communications planning, vendor coordination, and on-site support Act as an accountability coach to partners to track business development efforts and ensure timely follow up Source articles of interest and create follow up materials to support business development activities Coordinate with Business Development team on preparing attorney/office/practice ranking, potential award and related support materials Coordinate with Communications team to identify media opportunities that raise the profile of the firm Coordinate with Communications team to post relevant accomplishments on STB E-News/Legal Highlights, LinkedIn and other relevant outlets Facilitate business development learning opportunities for associates in conjunction with senior partners and legal talent department Provide quarterly reporting on business development efforts including expenditures and ROI (where quantifiable) Make annual budget recommendations and manage department activities to the budget Provide concierge level service for client dinners locally and when partners are traveling Manage client gifting process
Required Skills
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively and collaboratively with key stakeholders Ability to travel as necessary Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to exercise initiative and independent judgment Previous experience planning, executing and budgeting events Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines Ability to interact well and build professional relationships while maintaining a high level of customer service, diplomacy and discretion Ability to proactively identify and analyze problems, develop solutions and deliver results
Required Experience
At least 4 years of management experience in marketing/business development
Required Education
Bachelor’s degree required
Salary Information
NY Only: The estimated base salary range for this position is $180,000 to $220,000 at the time of posting.
The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. This role is exempt meaning it is not overtime pay eligible.
