DIVISION/UNIT: CVC-Accounting SUPERVISOR: Chief Financial Officer POSITION SUMMARY Century Housing Corporation is a mission-driven Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) supporting quality affordable home development throughout California. With offices in Culver City, Long Beach, and San Francisco, Century provides innovative end-to-end financing from predevelopment to permanent loans. In addition, Century has both real estate development and service provider arms, which, together with financing, seek to address the affordable housing and service needs of a diverse income range of projects and residents. Century, and its three main enterprises are all 501(C)(3) entities. We are seeking an experienced

Senior Director of Accounting

to lead the financial operations of our real estate development and property management companies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing accounting functions, financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance while ensuring the company’s financial health. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in real estate finance, accounting, and leadership. The Senior Director of Accounting will support a high-performing and expanding housing development business unit within the Century Housing organization that delivers on Century’s mission of investing in homes and communities so that low-income individuals and families may have a dignified living environment, achieve economic independence, and enjoy healthful and vital places to live and work. Essential Duties Oversee all accounting operations, including A/P, A/R, and general ledger management. Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP. Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and financial projections. Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting. Manage cash flow forecasting, financial planning, and treasury functions. Maintain internal controls. Oversee property-level accounting across our diverse portfolio. Review construction draws, invoices, and payment applications. Ensure compliance with LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) and other affordable housing program requirements. Assist in preparing cost certifications & 50% tests for tax credit projects. Lead the annual audit processes. Provide financial analysis to support strategic decision-making. Manage funding applications, grants, and financing sources for housing projects. Maintain accurate financial records and documentation for audits and compliance reviews. Support preparation of investor and lender reporting packages Work closely with leadership to develop financial strategies and business plans. Supervise a team of accounting professionals. Ensure all financial activities align with local, state, and federal regulations. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong understanding of real estate accounting principles, practices, and GAAP Understanding of affordable housing financing mechanisms (tax credits (LIHTC), grants, subsidies) Experience with Yardi property management software and financial systems Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills Ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights. Experience with project cost accounting and budget management Understanding of construction loan draws and project funding mechanisms Proven experience managing accounting teams. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent oral and written communication. Organization and time management skills. Ability to work independently and problem solve. Education & Experience Applicants should have ten (10) years Accounting or Finance experience; CPA preferred. Candidates with five (5) years accounting experience in real estate development or property management preferred. Salary Range: $180,000 - $225,000 (depending on years of experience leading accounting functions within a real estate/property management environment)
