– GLOUCESTERSHIRE & WEST MIDLANDS – LEADING UK BUILDING CONTRACTORS Sector:
Construction / Building Open to consider an already experienced Project Leader / Project Director or a Senior Project Manager. COMPANY We are recruiting for a Senior Project Manager or Project Leader / Project Director, to join one of the UK’s largest and most successful privately owned building main contractors. Initial multi-million pound new build commercial project to start in Gloucestershire, with long-term work in the West Midlands to follow. Previous experience on commercial / office projects would be advantageous but not essential. Initially based in the Midlands supporting the project during preconstruction and then moving to site in Gloucestershire from early next year. Future long-term work in the Midlands is also planned. We are open to considering candidates local to the Midlands willing to travel to Gloucestershire for the initial project, with potential for long-term Midlands work, or someone based closer to Gloucestershire for a fixed-term project. As a Project Director, you will be responsible for the overall leadership, management, and supervision of projects to achieve optimal results and health and safety standards. You will ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards, providing leadership and liaising with other departments to meet programme, specification, quality, and cost objectives. Work closely with customers
to manage the customer experience and journey. DUTIES: Lead the project team and manage the supply chain to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards. Monitor weekly progress and liaise with other department heads to resolve delays or issues. Ensure high quality standards and safety targets are maintained on site. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and safety. Manage customer relationships, including change management and expectation setting. Communicate a clear vision and strategy for project delivery. Proactively manage and monitor project programmes. Build and manage project teams, providing constructive feedback and motivation. Take ownership of projects with team support. Align performance targets with business objectives, focusing on Safety, Quality, Programme, Delivery, and People. Requirements: Previous employment as a Project Director, Ops Manager, Construction Director, Construction Manager, Contracts Manager, or Senior Project Manager. Experience on construction/building projects (Education, Healthcare, Commercial, Industrial, MOJ, Residential, Leisure). Previous employment with a main contractor. Confident, well-organized, results-driven, and excellent communicator. Relevant industry qualification (Degree / HND / HNC etc).
