Cloud Architect As a Cloud Architect, you will work within our growing DevSecOps practice delivering features to support cloud migration, cloud optimization, and cloud deployment. We are looking for candidates with 8-10 years of experience with cloud platform services and DevOps practices such as infrastructure as code and configuration management automation. Responsibilities Include : Identify and implement the most optimal cloud-based solutions for the customer. Design cloud environments and demonstrate technical cloud architectural knowledge, playing a vital role in the design of production, staging, QA, and development of cloud infrastructures running in 24/7 environments. Implement and oversee cloud strategies including migrations and optimization. Establish development tools and infrastructure for automation. Understand stakeholder needs and communicate these effectively to developers. Automate and improve development, testing, deployment, and release processes. Test and examine code written by others and analyze results. Perform root cause analysis on complex business processes and technical components. Ensure systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats. Identify technical problems, perform root cause analysis, and develop software updates and fixes. Collaborate with software developers and engineers to ensure development follows established processes and functions as intended. Support enterprise cloud applications or infrastructure through infrastructure as code, including activities around automated server or network configurations, large-scale software deployments, and monitoring/testing such as CI/CD. Document the current environment, perform gap analysis, and produce artifacts with options and recommendations. Leverage virtualization and containerization to optimize and modernize software systems. Act as an individual contributor and mentor junior team members. Engineer and implement solutions, providing recommendations for continuous improvement. Present regular status updates and cross-train team members. Qualifications Required : Ability to obtain a U.S. government Security Clearance. Bachelor's Degree in an IT field or a non-IT field with 2 years of related IT experience. 8 years of experience in architecting, designing, developing, and implementing cloud solutions. 8 years of experience with one or more cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). 8 years of experience with Git SCM providers (GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket). 8 years of experience working in an Agile environment. 8 years of experience with infrastructure as code and orchestration. 8 years of experience integrating deployments with industry-standard DevSecOps tooling and orchestration. 5 years of experience in areas such as database architecture, ETL, business intelligence, big data, machine learning, or advanced analytics. Preferred : MS Degree in an IT-related field. Certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS Certified Solution Architect Professional, Microsoft Certified DevOps Engineer Expert, Microsoft Certified Solution Architect Expert, SAFe DevOps Certification. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaborative skills. Experience with documenting environment states, performing gap analysis, and producing recommendation artifacts. Scripting experience in Concourse, Bash, PowerShell, Python, Groovy, or Ruby. Experience implementing Docker containers and using platforms like Kubernetes. Experience with automation tools such as Pivotal, Chef, Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible. About Steampunk Steampunk considers various factors for salary determination, including location, education, knowledge, skills, and experience. The projected salary range is $130,000 to $190,000, reflecting a typical annual salary. Additional benefits are part of the total compensation package.
