What To Expect As a Cell Manufacturing Engineer, you will be at the forefront of bringing dry battery electrode manufacturing technology and 4680 battery cells to high-volume production, contributing significantly to the acceleration of sustainable energy. You will join a team of talented engineers to evaluate and develop mixing systems that improve throughput, quality, performance, and cost in Dry Battery Electrode Manufacturing. Your role will involve developing and standardizing next-generation mass-production mixing systems and collaborating with the global manufacturing engineering team and cross-functional cell engineering team on factory design and technical problem-solving. What You'll Do Work closely with manufacturing engineering teams and vendors to design, install, and commission equipment related to powder processing systems, such as conveyance, batching, extruders, mixers, and mills. Coordinate with manufacturing engineers to ensure proper scoping and trending of mixing subsystems for timely and budget-conscious delivery. Oversee equipment deliveries and participate in on-site inspections. Develop standards and processes to simplify future factory mixing system designs. Contribute to design reviews of mixing subsystems, ensuring feedback is incorporated. Engage with cross-functional teams to align interfaces between mixing and other factory operations. What You'll Bring Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience. 2+ years of industry experience in process development, manufacturing engineering, or related fields. Experience introducing new equipment and processes into production. Skills in designing components and assemblies, with knowledge of engineering systems design and project management. Understanding of manufacturing principles. Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar CAD software. Experience with MATLAB, Python, CFD, FEA, JMP, or Minitab is a plus.
