Finance Director to join our management team at our Pensacola office. Position Overview:
Reporting to the ChiefAdministrative Officer, the
Finance Director
will oversee financial operationsof the organization, ensuring compliance with nonprofit accounting standardsand grant funding requirements. This role will manage grant budgeting, financialforecasting, reporting processes, grant billing/reporting, and superviseaccounting staff. Qualified applicants must have a high-level of comfort withthe Microsoft Office Suite and use of office technology to function as part ofboth a local and virtual team. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented,committed to excellence, works well in a team environment, and is ready tocontribute strategically to maintain the organization’s fiscal health. Key Responsibilities: FinancialManagement & Reporting Prepareand monitor the annual organizational budget for executive leadership andboard approval. Developmonthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for the Board ofDirectors and senior management. Ensureaccuracy and timeliness of financial record-keeping, internal controls,and compliance with grant and audit requirements. GrantManagement & Compliance Collaboratewith program staff to prepare grant budgets, financial reports, andmaintain accurate expenditure tracking. Ensurecompliance with grant regulations, funder requirements, and applicablefederal and state laws. Leadership& Supervision Directlysupervise and mentor accounting staff, including Financial ProcessAnalyst and Fiscal Clerks, ensuring professional growth, performanceevaluation, and accountability. Serveas an active and strategic member of the organization’s management team. Administration& Operational Oversight Coordinatepayroll disbursements, oversee procurement processes, vendor payments,and accounts payable. Managefinancial aspects of lease agreements, real estate properties, andoversee investment of surplus funds based on the Financial OversightCommittee’s recommendations. ProfessionalDevelopment Maintaincurrent knowledge of tax laws, federal regulations, and accounting bestpractices. Participatein professional training and statewide administrative conferences toenhance organizational effectiveness. Qualifications: Required: Bachelor'sDegree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline. Minimumof five (5) years progressively responsible experience in accounting. Nonprofitor grant accounting experience, especially related to federal, state, orlocal grant programs. Demonstratedproficiency in financial management, budgeting, and compliance. Commitmentto the organization’s mission and values. Stronganalytical, decision-making, and communication skills. Abilityto work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage multiplepriorities. Preferred: Experiencewith MIP accounting software
strongly preferred . Priorsupervisory or management experience. Physical Requirements: Abilityto drive a vehicle. Proficiencyin typing and computer use. Abilityto occasionally lift and move boxes, equipment, and other items. Work Environment: Regular,full-time hours on-site in Tallahassee, FL. Occasionaltravel required to regional office locations, meetings, andtraining/conferences. Expectedcommitment of 40 hours per week on average; additional hours occasionallyrequired based on organizational needs. Salary & Benefits: Salarystarting at $70,000 annually. Salary is dependent upon experience. Comprehensivebenefits package including health insurance, retirement contributions,paid leave, and opportunities for professional development. Paidtime off includes: holidays, sick leave, and personal leave (which aftertwo years, increases to five weeks per year) 100%fully paid health insurance for employee & dependent children after60 days of employment Employerpaid life insurance policy of $25,000 Employercontributes 6% to retirement/ 401K plan, after one year of full timeservice Additionalvoluntary options of dental, vision, term life, disability, and otherinsurance coverage is also available.
