The Aquatic Director is responsible for the development and implementation of safe, quality programs for members and guests. This includes coordination and supervision of swimming lessons, lifeguard/open swimming, specialty aquatic programs, and CPR/First-Aid/Lifeguard training. Qualified candidates must have a minimum of an Associate's degree or three years related experience. Current lifeguard certification is required, and experience in recruitment, training, and development of staff and volunteers. The YMCA offers an extensive benefit package that includes health insurance, paid vacation days, 10% employer-paid retirement, and complimentary use of Y facilities. Degree in physical education, recreation or related field. Two or more years of supervisory experience in an aquatic program. Ability to train swim and water fitness instructors. Excellent communication and public relations skills. Computer proficient. Requires trainer-level certification in YMCA Swim Lessons within 90 days of employment. First Aid and CPR for the Professional Rescuer certifications required. Current ARC or YMCA Lifeguard certification required. Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.
