Job Details Focused on research to improve the health and well-being of Singaporeans across the life course, A*STAR Institute for Human Development and Potential (IHDP) is looking for a research fellow with a keen interest in gut microbiome and its link with human health. The successful candidate will work in a dynamic, interdisciplinary environment, and have exclusive access to a rich array of clinical and omics data (specifically metagenomics, metabolomics data etc.) to explore and contribute to our understanding of the gut microbiome role in promoting the health of women and children. We are seeking an individual who is not only experienced in bioinformatics but also passionate about translating complex data into meaningful insights for health and well-being. Job Responsibilities You will be responsible for industrial and academia projects in relation to gut microbiome and human health, and your duties include but are not limited to the following: Process and perform integrative analysis on omics datasets, including but not limited to metagenomics, metabolomics, meta transcriptomics, and proteomics. Set up bioinformatics tools/workflow, and develop applications with R Shiny, Python Dash or Matlab. Analyze data, interpret results and plan the next step. Draft, submit and revise manuscript for publication. Perform general data and server housekeeping. Job Requirements A PhD degree in Microbiology/Bioinformatics/Artificial Intelligence/Data Science/ Computational Biology/Computer Science/Applied Mathematics. Strong analytical and programming skills (Python, R, Perl, or Matlab, UNIX environment). Broad experience with modeling, machine learning, and deep learning. Experience with metagenomics, meta transcriptomics, metabolomics will be a plus. Strong project management, written and communication skills Minimum 1 to 2 years experience. Candidates with no experience will also be considered.
