The Counsel, Advertising & Marketing Technology will join the team of attorneys, paralegals, and staff supporting the Retail Media Network, the Albertsons Media Collective.

The successful candidate will counsel the company on legal risks and collaborate with teams and US Media companies on Media solutions.

This role is based in Pleasanton, CA or Boise, ID.

What you'll do

Support marketing, experiential, and agency/tech partner verticals within the Albertsons Media Collective.

Enhance efficiency and speed to market through risk mitigation strategies using processes, controls, templates, and SOPs.

Negotiate agreements supporting marketing engagements and third-party partnerships.

Provide product counseling for new AdTech products and services.

Balance speed with risk to enable testing and piloting that inform long-term roadmaps.

Respond promptly to complex legal requests, coordinating with the legal team to deliver practical advice.

Identify and assess business and legal risks, finding ways to mitigate them while achieving goals.

Communicate complex issues clearly to business leaders.

Advise on privacy issues related to customer data in coordination with the Privacy law team.

Build relationships across Retail Operations, Marketing, Merchandising, and Privacy teams.

What you’ll bring

7+ years of experience in marketing, media, AdTech, or technology.

Experience drafting and negotiating agreements.

Deep understanding of privacy laws.

Excellent communication skills.

Product counseling experience.

Ability to evaluate risks, solve problems, and make balanced decisions.

Qualifications

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school.

Membership in good standing in a state Bar.

7+ years relevant experience, preferably in-house or at a top-tier law firm.

Experience supporting retail media business and counseling on legal risks.

Strong analytical, research, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
