Our work depends on Network Engineer Senior joining our team to support the US Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM). HOW A NETWORK ENGINEER SENIOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT Responsible for installation, configuration, and support of an organization’s local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), Agency Internet Network (AIN), Intranet, Internet, and other data communications systems or a segment of a network system; maintains network hardware and software; monitors network to ensure network availability to all system users and performs necessary maintenance to support network availability; may supervise other network support and client-server specialists and plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures; and will provide leadership/mentorship to junior & mid-level network engineers. Oversees network control center; provides support to projects involving networks; performs complex network designs encompassing multiple technologies; evaluates new network technologies and makes recommendations; plans configurations for integration into the network, ensuring effective performance; supports voice communications systems; and translates business requirements into telecommunications requirements, designs, and orders. The overarching INFOSEC and COMSEC security requirements for the Agency network add to the complexity of these positions. Analyzes user requirements, system documents, and high-level architectures to develop network requirements specifications. Guides users, advises on approaches, and conducts feasibility studies. Analyzes network requirements and capacity, leads design and development activities. Provides technical leadership for network integration, design, and technology. Incorporates new network plans, designs, and systems into operations. Develops network architecture and documentation. Guides network development and implementation planning. Designs and integrates new technologies into networks. Provides advanced troubleshooting and problem resolution. Manages network transition, migration, and addressing schemes. Interacts with the Government on technical considerations and issues. Responsible for the technical integrity of work and deliverables in network engineering. Communicates with program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives. WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED : Education: Bachelor's Degree with 12 years of experience or Master’s Degree with 10 years of experience. Required Skillset : Manage risks, control costs, and schedule variance; manage large-scale projects. Review and approve network engineering documentation. Establish procedures for network integration activities. Capture interface designs in a common format and store in a repository. Security Clearance Level: TS / SCI. Required Certification(s) : DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II / 8140 Computing Environment (CE) Certification. IAT II 8570 / 8140 Baseline Certification Security+ or equivalent. Minimum of CCNA to start and CCNP within 180 days; CCNP preferred from day one. Location: On Customer Site. Additional : Candidates must be willing to attain a CI Polygraph if required. Position may require lifting, reaching, bending, and other physical activities. Travel may be required.
