The Red Hat Enterprise Linux Engineering team is seeking an experienced developer to join as a Senior Software Engineer in our Core Virtualization team. You will design, develop, and integrate new Core Virtualization features into Layered Products such as OpenShift Virtualization (KubeVirt and Kubernetes). This involves collaborating with communities like QEMU, Libvirt, and KubeVirt, as well as internal teams and partners on upstream contributions, maintainership, and downstream integration. This position is based in Lowell, Massachusetts, with options for remote work, including exceptional remote applicants. Primary Job Responsibilities

Design and develop features in KubeVirt Coordinate with Quality Engineering on test plans and documentation teams for coverage Participate in peer code reviews Engage in architectural discussions on system design, APIs, and inter-dependencies of Core Virtualization components Collaborate with other engineering teams within Red Hat Troubleshoot, brainstorm, and deliver fixes for internal and external customers Required Skills

Understanding of Linux OS and scripting languages Proficiency in C or C++, and Python; Golang and Rust experience are a plus Experience with Linux-based operating systems Knowledge of open source communities Experience with container-based applications and Kubernetes/OpenShift internals Full professional proficiency in English Preferred Skills

Understanding of Virtualization technologies Deep knowledge of Kubernetes/OpenShift internals The salary range is $108,760 - $173,800, based on qualifications. Benefits
