Graycor . Graycor is seeking a Sr. Mechanical Estimator to develop conceptual and hard bids for manufacturing, industrial, and energy transition markets. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in creating competitive bids and budgets, with comprehensive knowledge of industry standards and practices. Job Responsibilities
Analyze drawings, specifications, and documentation to prepare cost estimates for mechanical equipment installation projects. Conduct take-offs and prepare detailed material, labor, and equipment cost breakdowns. Collaborate with project managers, estimators, and stakeholders to ensure accurate estimates. Develop options and recommend best value solutions based on cost, engineering, quality, or material availability. Source and evaluate supplier quotes for competitiveness and compliance. Prepare bid proposals, including scope of work, cost estimates, and timelines. Develop conceptual proposals to support business development and client retention. Stay updated with industry trends, material pricing, and construction techniques. Assist in improving estimating tools, processes, and practices. Job Requirements
Strong understanding of conceptual and lump sum estimating techniques. Ability to interpret installation manuals, specifications, and technical drawings. Bachelor’s degree preferred, with 7-10 years of experience in estimating mechanical equipment installation, preferably in union or merit-based environments. Experience in piping estimating is a plus. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of steel erection processes, standards, and best practices. Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively. Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in estimating software (WinEst) and Microsoft Office Suite. Additional Details
