Organization Profile At Girls on the Run Minnesota, we offer after-school empowerment programs designed for 3rd- to 8th-grade girls. Our mission is to inspire participants to recognize their inner strength, build healthy habits, imagine their possibilities, and confidently stand up for themselves and others. We do this through an innovative curriculum that blends dynamic physical activity with life skills lessons and community impact projects, all led by trained volunteer coaches. www.gotrmn.org . Position Profile GOTR MN is seeking a dynamic, mission-focused Development & Communications Coordinator to help grow our fundraising and external communications efforts statewide. This position reports to and is supported by the Development Director, who will provide strategic direction. The Coordinator will focus on implementing that strategy – bringing it to life through compelling storytelling, strong donor engagement, and the seamless implementation of campaigns and events. This is a hands-on, creative role ideal for someone who thrives in both planning and doing. The ideal candidate will have at least 2-3 years of relevant professional experience in development and communications, with strong writing skills, an eye for design, and a passion for building community support. Key Responsibilities: Fundraising & Development Individual Giving: Plan and implement two annual multi-channel individual giving campaigns & manage SoleMates community fundraising program Events: Support the planning and execution of our two annual fundraising events: the Limitless Potential Luncheon each spring and an International Day of the Girl celebration each fall Grants: Prospect, research, draft and submit grant proposals and reports, develop and maintain a grants calendar in coordination with the Development Director. Donor Data & Acknowledgements: Enter and track donations, generate reports, and coordinate timely thank-you communications Communications & Storytelling Help spark meaningful conversations and amplify the voices of GOTR youth, leaders, and volunteers Manage organization-wide communications calendar Write, design and distribute monthly e-newsletters and other donor/volunteer communications. Create engaging content and manage GOTR MN’s social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn) Help elevate GOTR MN’s visibility through strategic storytelling, media outreach, and community partnerships across Minnesota Collaborate with team members to keep website content fresh and relevant Ensure consistent, inclusive, and mission-aligned messaging across all platforms and materials Who You Are: You bring 2-3 years of relevant professional experience in nonprofit development, communications, or a related field. You’re passionate about the Girls on the Run mission and core values. You’re a strong writer, a clear communicator, and a creative thinker. You have personal and/or professional experience with building a culture of belonging. You’re organized and proactive, with great attention to detail. You feel confident using digital tools like Google Suite, Canva, CRM/donor databases, and email platforms. You have regular access to a personal vehicle for local travel throughout the Twin Cities and occasionally Greater Minnesota.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Girls on the Run, or other youth development programs. Prior experience writing and submitting grant proposals. Non-profit fundraising or campaign experience. Proficiency in Spanish, Hmong or Somali. Familiarity with design software or visual storytelling.

Position Specifics: Full-time, salaried $55,000 annually. Includes generous PTO, health and dental insurance, a retirement plan with employer match, and a flexible remote work policy (up to 2 remote days per week). Some evening and weekend hours are required, with limited vacation availability during key event seasons. All positions with GOTR MN require a successful background check.
