2 days ago - Be among the first 25 applicants Job Description Role Overview As a member of the Infotainment and Connectivity Software Safety team, the Staff Software Safety Architect leads safety initiatives across all phases of system development for software integral to our Infotainment and Connectivity systems. This includes conducting safety analyses, creating safety requirements for components like middleware, platform diagnostics, and Linux OS, and guiding software development teams to develop and verify safe platform solutions for vehicles. Key Responsibilities Develop safety concepts, conduct safety analyses, and create safety requirements for Linux-based infrastructure/software. Ensure safety requirements are complete, consistent, and traceable to system-level safety standards. Support software teams in safety design, implementation, and testing. Adhere to GM safety standards and development processes. Collaborate with system safety teams and industry experts to align safety strategies. Lead or participate in safety assessments, audits, and reviews. Drive continuous improvement in safety and software development processes. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, or related field. At least 7 years of embedded systems development experience in safety-critical domains. Knowledge of ISO 26262 and other safety standards. Experience with Embedded Linux development and full software lifecycle. Proficiency in C/C++ programming. Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and in teams. Preferred Skills Experience with safety analysis methods like FMEA, FTA, STPA. Knowledge of software architecture, real-time OS, automotive systems, and communication networks. Advanced degree preferred. Compensation & Benefits Salary range: $195,000 - $298,800, with bonus potential. GM offers comprehensive health, retirement, vehicle discounts, and other benefits. Additional Information This role is hybrid, requiring reporting to Mountain View, CA, Austin, TX, or Warren, MI, at least three times weekly. The position does not include relocation benefits.
