Wholesale Portfolio Management (WPM) implements GB’s strategy by reviewing all lending requests, covering LAF, Real Assets, Structured Finance and Relationship Management requests.WPM acts on behalf of senior management to balance client needs with HSBC’s goals and objectives.The team provides impartial guidance on modelling and optimization of capital resources. WPM also pro-actively manages credit risk, concentration risk of the lending portfolio, and balance sheet utilization by executing collateralized loan obligations (CLOs), credit default swaps (CDS) and loan sales to optimize and recycle capital.
As our Vice President, Wholesale Portfolio Management you will :
Support front-line origination and distribution, through the Capital Allocation Committee (CAC) and Sub-CAC process, to optimize new business proposals using the deal profitability projection tool (Omnia Returns Calculator) and the Client Relationship profitability tool (Omnia)
Engage with GB Senior Management to support GB’s business strategy and agenda
Provide guidance to Relationship Bankers and Product Partners on optimal deal booking considering regional capital constraints and opportunities
Coordinate balance sheet availability with WPM teams from other regions (Europe, Asia Pacific and the Middle East) in order to maximize shareholder returns
Support the Worry Watch Monitor (WWM) process, which ensure close monitoring of clients with specific credit and non-credit concerns
Support the Early Warning Risk Indicator process, ensuring appropriate investigation of clients that might raise concerns based on market drivers (such as stock price, EDF, CDS, short interests)
Lead training sessions for GB colleagues, regarding profitability tools updates / changes, changes in guidelines and processes, and Worry Watch Monitor procedures
Assist in compiling regional portfolio data to track and analyse trends in the portfolio
For this role, HSBC targets a pay range between $150, and $180,
The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing / certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

Requirements
You´ll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role :
Extensive experience in a wholesale / corporate banking environment, with banking product knowledge and a good understanding of credit risk
Numerate, with excellent analytical skills and the ability to connect external trends with business activity
IT literate with an ability to pick-up new systems quickly
Articulate with strong analytical and good verbal and written communication skills
Strong multitasking ability, with an eye for detail and logical content
