In the role of
Department Director, Clinical Operations in the department of Anesthesiology
you will be responsible for directing the clinical operations and administrative support functions of the Department and its clinical Divisions, managing operations strategy, personnel, and resources to ensure that goals are met in a timely and effective manner. Efficiently allocates personnel and intangible resources to create an operating environment that recruits and retains the highest quality faculty and staff. Demonstrates a commitment to continuous improvement related to compliance with regulatory and internal policies, departmental resources, and department performance. Reports directly to the Department Administrator and serves as the direct leader for clinical Division Administrators and other Departmental operations and business function leaders. Works closely with Department and Divisional leadership to maintain an environment conducive to peak performance in all areas of operation. Collaborates with MCW and Practice leaders and staff and operational leaders from clinical affiliate partners to ensure collaboration, alignment, and achievement of goals within the Department. Demonstrates a commitment to continuous improvement related to compliance with regulatory and internal policies, departmental resources, and department performance. Primary Functions Directs, supervises, and coordinates clinical operations and administrative support functions and activities across divisions within a department. Supervise, mentor and coach Division Administrators and other direct reports and allocate tasks appropriately. Operationalize departmental clinical program development. Lead the Department’s workforce planning activities for faculty, APPs, and staff Coordinates and leads department initiatives related to employment, benefits, training, and development, in collaboration with the Office of Human Resources. Oversees human resources actions related to employee recruitment, selection, termination, salary, and disciplinary actions and decisions. Oversees visa, licensing, and credentialing processes for employees and serves as the main contact for all Departmental Human Resources matters. Develops, implements, interprets and monitors adherence to department policies, objectives, and operating procedures. Collaborates with Department Administrator and Unit Finance Director to develop, audit, and approve clinical budgets and financial reports and action plans. Leads changes necessary to reach financial goals. Inspires department by reinforcing MCW Code of Conduct, MCW values and missions, employee engagement, performance, and productivity to enhance departmental effectiveness. Identifies and leads objectives and coordinates with Department Administrator, Practice, Affiliates, Faculty, and committees to implement change and development. Serves as a member of the Department Chair’s Executive Leader Team Direct program development. Participate on appropriate committees relevant to the advancement of the Department’s clinical mission and workforce. Ensure accurate clinical program data and progress updates are reported to Department, Practice, and Affiliate leaders and other stakeholders
