Job Summary: Modis is seeking a Java Developer for a contract job with a client in Plano, TX. The role involves coding, testing, and debugging software applications, while collaborating with multiple teams to ensure quality deliverables. Responsibilities: • Develop, enhance, test, support, maintain, and debug software applications that support business units or functions. • Work closely with other engineers and teams to ensure stable, quality deliveries. • Provide strategic technical direction and system architecture for individual initiatives. • Create prototypes to prove design concepts and prepare UML diagrams to describe application states. • Participate in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including analysis, technical design, development, testing, and deployment. • Identify and mitigate risks associated with software development and testing. • Recommend technological innovations that enhance the organization's competitive advantage. • Estimate effort for software applications and coordinate with external programming teams to deliver software on time and within budget. Qualifications: Required: • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. • Minimum of 5-6 years of hands-on experience in Java/J2EE development. • Proficiency in developing RESTful services using Spring Framework and Spring Boot. • Experience with Apache Kafka for online data publishing and consuming.
