Job Summary The Director of Substance Use Services is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing and coordinating all operations within a healthcare facility, ensuring quality care, compliance, and operational efficiency. This role involves strategic planning, budget management, staff supervision, and the implementation of clinical policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

Provide ongoing supervision to staff to ensure timely, appropriate, and effective services, staff development, and policy enforcement.

Create and manage staffing coverage in partnership with the Engagement Center Assistant Director.

Collaborate with Program Managers of SUD programs to support effective services and staff.

Draft and maintain operations manuals.

Deliver presentations and training as needed.

Ensure implementation and adherence to program and safety protocols.

Participate in external meetings to promote engagement center services.

Apply outcome measurement tools, analyze data, and make service improvements accordingly.

Submit accurate reports to supervisors, funding agencies, and regulatory bodies within deadlines.

Contribute as a member of the CARE of SEM Leadership Team.

Adjust work hours based on community needs, including evenings and weekends.

Stay informed on substance use and prevention statistics, applying current trends to service delivery.

Required Skills / Education

A Master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, marriage & family therapy, or a related field.

At least one year of experience in individual/group therapy or EAP counseling.

Active licensure or certification (LMSW, LPC, LLP, etc.) in accordance with professional requirements.

Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC) or eligibility for a development plan through Michigan Certification Board for Addiction Professionals.
