As a Founding Frontend Engineer, you’ll be at the helm of building the face of client's AI-powered finance platform. Your work will directly shape how users interact with intelligent agents that automate complex financial workflows — from reconciliations to forecasting and board reporting. Here’s how you’ll make that happen: ● Architect from scratch: Define and build the frontend from the ground up using React, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS — ensuring it’s modular, scalable, and easy to evolve as the product grows. ● Own end-to-end user experiences: Translate complex financial logic into elegant, intuitive UIs. From dashboards to data-rich agent views, you’ll build interfaces that feel magical but hold up to audit scrutiny. ● Integrate real-time APIs: Seamlessly connect with backend systems and AI agent services through well-structured REST APIs, enabling dynamic, real-time financial updates. ● Handle complex state: Use tools like Zustand (or similar modern state management libraries) to manage deeply nested, interactive application states with high reliability and performance. ● Collaborate across functions: Work closely with the founders, designers (via Figma), and backend engineers to ensure a unified product vision. You’ll be deeply involved in product and design decisions. ● Optimize for performance: Build snappy, responsive UIs that work well on modern keyboard accessibility. ● Design under audit constraints: Think beyond usability — ensure financial actions are traceable, explainable, and compliant by design. ● Iterate rapidly: This is a 0 to 1 build in a fast-paced environment. You’ll ship quickly, learn fast, and improve constantly. What We’re Looking For We're not just looking for a coder — we’re looking for a founding engineer who’s ready to build, break, and reinvent alongside us. Here’s what we consider non-negotiable: ● 4+ years of deep frontend experience, especially with React in production, including proficiency with React Hooks and functional components ● Fluency in TypeScript — you write type-safe code that’s easy to refactor and maintain ● Design systems and styling: You’re confident working with Tailwind CSS, and ideally familiar with libraries like Ant Design for fast, clean implementation ● State management: Hands-on experience with tools like Zustand, Recoil, or Redux, and an understanding of how to manage state in large-scale apps ● API integration: Strong understanding of RESTful architectures, error handling, and ● Startup mindset: You’ve worked at an early-stage or VC-backed startup, and you’re energized by ambiguity, speed, and ownership ● Product intuition: You think about user needs, not just specs. You can debate design decisions and suggest improvements proactively ● Collaboration-first: Comfortable working closely with founders, product leaders, and designers in real time (in NYC or hybrid) ● Operational readiness: You’re familiar with tools like Figma, Git, JIRA/Linear, and a Bonus points if you have: ● Exposure to financial or AI products ● A track record of building and scaling internal tools or workflow-based platforms ● Contributed to open-source or technical blogs that demonstrate your thinking ● Deep understanding of responsive vs adaptive UI design, and when to use each Seniority level
