Job Summary:
The Walt Disney Company Direct to Consumer’s (DTC) Data Science team combines deep data analysis and research of our rich user data to present a compelling vision around user retention and preferences across our product offerings and content.
We are the insights and modeling partners for content, marketing, product, and engineering teams at Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+. As Data Scientists, we use data to empower decision-makers with information, predictions, and insights that influence the experiences of millions of users worldwide. WHAT YOU'LL DO
Improve title-level content engagement forecasting models and develop models for content targeting.
Apply machine learning and statistical analysis to develop models related to opportunity sizing, targeting, and optimization.
Analyze user behavioral data to identify patterns, uncover opportunities, and understand user interactions with content and services.
Develop prototypes, models, algorithms, and analytics to communicate impactful insights visually and clearly.
Partner with business stakeholders and data teams to identify opportunities and improve data modeling, visualization, experimentation, and architecture capabilities.
WHAT TO BRING
Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in developing machine learning models and conducting statistical analysis.
Deep understanding of machine learning concepts and statistical methods.
Ability to derive insights from data to inform models and business decisions.
Collaborative mindset to work with data scientists, analysts, and business partners.
Proficiency in Python for analyzing data and developing ML models (using frameworks like TensorFlow, scikit-learn).
Experience with Object-Oriented programming for modeling pipelines (Airflow, Luigi).
Knowledge of SQL and distributed data technologies (Hive, Spark).
NICE TO HAVES
MS or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Physics, or related fields.
Knowledge of Bayesian modeling and probabilistic programming languages like Stan or PyMC.
Experience integrating data science solutions into business operations and operationalizing ML models.

The salary range for this position in Santa Monica, CA, and Glendale, CA is $138,900 to $186,200 per year. The actual offer will consider internal equity, geographic location, experience, and skills. Compensation may include bonuses and incentives, along with comprehensive benefits.
