Project Coordinator I

is responsible for aiding in the coordination of day-to-day project management activities throughout all phases of Sonic's Plant Construction projects, while promoting Sonic's core values of outstanding customer service, quality, security, and integrity. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: Full-time (40 hours per week), non-exempt position. Ideally a Hybrid role, HQ in Santa Rosa, CA. Travel: None Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Understanding of the construction project lifecycle related to utilities (pre-engineering, engineering, construction, post-construction) Understanding permitting processes for aerial and underground construction (durations, extensions, traffic control requirements, etc.) Knowledge of aerial and underground construction fundamentals and transitioning processes, emphasizing network continuity. Coordinate with municipal departments for permits, inspections, and approvals. Proficient with Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe PDF. Prepare purchase orders, monitor construction tracking, and track check requests. Handle permit applications and fees with relevant agencies. Knowledge of State, Highway, Railway, and Municipal permitting requirements. Learn and implement AT&T and PG&E paperwork processes. Assist with SOW document preparation and permitting processes. Schedule traffic control and parking signage. Monitor permit expiration dates and request extensions. Manage project closeout processes, including filing NOCs, As-Builts, permits, and filings. Review as-built drawings for billing verification. Create and send construction notices, coordinate IT and logistics for contractor badges, and submit map requests. Manage project files and workflows using SharePoint or similar platforms. Competency: Key competencies include responsibility, problem-solving, technical skills, customer service, interpersonal skills, communication skills, ethics, and knowledge of utility construction processes.
