About The Role
Windsor is seeking an innovative leader who's passionate about delivering excellence in mechanical systems for water and wastewater treatment facilities. As a Senior Process Mechanical Engineer | Project Manager, you'll drive comprehensive mechanical solutions for treatment plants from conceptual design through construction completion while mentoring the next generation of engineers. Your specialized expertise in treatment plant mechanical systems, equipment selection and specification, and process optimization, combined with your commitment to operational efficiency and regulatory compliance, will shape reliable treatment infrastructure, foster strong partnerships with utilities and operators, and inspire your team to achieve new standards of mechanical engineering excellence in water treatment applications.
What You'll Do
Demonstrate Windsor's core values: The Right Attitude, Ownership, and Constant Improvement. Manage water and wastewater treatment facility projects (As "Lead" and/or "PM" when assigned) with emphasis on mechanical process systems, equipment design, and process optimization Be responsible for project delivery (scope, schedule, and budget) including QA/QC processes at all project stages, with emphasis on equipment performance, process efficiency, and regulatory compliance Act as Engineer of Record and lead technical reviewer for mechanical process equipment design, equipment specifications, and treatment system integration Design and specify mechanical process equipment including pumps, blowers, mixers, conveyors, screens, and chemical feed systems with focus on process performance, energy efficiency, and operational reliability Design pumping stations and lift stations for water and wastewater conveyance systems, including equipment selection, wet well design, and control system integration Be responsible for project delivery (scope, schedule, and budget) including QA/QC processes at all project stages, with emphasis on equipment performance and regulatory compliance Work independently and with a team to drive project deliverables as both a mechanical design Lead and Project Manager, specializing in water/wastewater treatment mechanical systems Work closely with utility clients, operators, equipment vendors, and regulatory agencies to represent Windsor positively, identify optimization opportunities, and grow strong long-term relationships Develop and maintain relationships with team members, utility clients, equipment manufacturers, and industry partners to expand Windsor's network and market presence in the treatment sector Lead estimating and proposal efforts for new water/wastewater treatment facility projects, including development of innovative mechanical solutions and life-cycle cost analysis Effectively plan and manage multiple mechanical design projects and deadlines and complete deliverables on time and on budget while ensuring equipment performance standards Mentor junior team members in mechanical process engineering excellence, equipment design principles, treatment system integration, and client relationship management Champion and be responsible for quality control and following Windsor's Quality Management Plan (QMP) with particular attention to equipment performance and operational efficiency Develop and apply knowledge of mechanical process equipment, treatment technologies, and equipment specifications to deliver innovative treatment solutions Coordinate with process engineers, electrical engineers, structural engineers, and civil engineers to ensure integrated treatment facility design Complete treatment facility site visits, equipment vendor meetings, startup/commissioning support, and performance testing as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, environmental engineering, or a similar degree from an accredited institution, or equivalent work experience Professional Engineer (PE) licensure in MN and/or WA or ability to obtain it within 6 months 15+ years' experience in water/wastewater engineering with demonstrated expertise in mechanical process equipment design and treatment system integration Experience with mechanical equipment specification, vendor evaluation, and equipment procurement for treatment facility projects Proven experience in project management and technical review across water/wastewater treatment facility projects Strong written and verbal communications skills with ability to interface with utility clients, operators, equipment vendors, and regulatory agencies Knowledge of AutoCAD or Civil 3D for mechanical design and equipment layout, and familiarity with process modeling software Demonstrated experience with comprehensive QA/QC processes and procedures for mechanical process systems with emphasis on equipment performance and regulatory compliance Proven track record of business development and client relationship management within the municipal utilities and water/wastewater treatment sector Experience mentoring junior staff and leading multidisciplinary teams on treatment facility projects Experience with proposal writing and project pursuits for water/wastewater treatment and mechanical system projects Experience with stakeholder engagement including utility operators, equipment vendors, and regulatory agencies Strong understanding of water/wastewater treatment standards, mechanical equipment standards (HI, ANSI, API), energy codes, and regulatory requirements
Preferred
Experience with treatment facility construction administration and commissioning of mechanical systems Knowledge of variable frequency drives (VFDs), control systems, and SCADA integration for treatment plant equipment Experience with energy audits and optimization studies for existing treatment facilities Familiarity with equipment lifecycle cost analysis and maintenance planning for treatment facilities Experience with design-build and alternative project delivery methods for treatment plant project

Qualifications
