The Manh Choh Project is a greenfield gold deposit in eastern Alaska, developed with ore hauled to Kinross’ Fort Knox mine for processing. The mine site is located in the Tetlin Hills, approximately 250 miles southeast of Fort Knox and 10 miles southeast of Tok. Production is expected to begin in 2024. Job Summary

Supervise and coordinate engineering and mine support activities to meet production and safety standards. Lead the development of the long-term strategy for the Life of Mine Plan, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Formulate tactical plans for operational efficiency and profitability. Provide technical advice and mentorship to engineering personnel. Key Responsibilities and Duties

Develop and implement long-term engineering strategies to meet organizational objectives. Drive the development of the long-term mine plan, collaborating with strategic teams and ensuring operational realities and risk mitigations are considered. Optimize resource and reserve models, ensuring accuracy and updates. Create tactical plans to execute strategic objectives, including daily scheduling and risk management. Lead planning processes, identify risks, and implement improvements. Advise on grade control and ore mining activities for maximum profitability. Act as a change agent and project sponsor for engineering initiatives, setting organizational values and priorities. Collaborate with other departments and support overall mine management. Develop and enhance engineering team capabilities, set performance targets, and manage performance. Establish succession planning and talent development strategies. Manage resources, budgets, and capital expenditures for engineering operations. Lead the Engineering Department to achieve safety and production goals. Qualifications and Skill Requirements

Bachelor of Science or Engineering in Mine Engineering; master’s degree preferred. 8-12 years of related experience, with leadership experience. Strong commitment to safety, knowledge of mining techniques, reserve estimation, and integration of mining functions. Experience leading mining teams and understanding of geological resource models. Professional registration is preferred. Ability to work on a rotational schedule. Kinross is a Canadian-based global senior gold mining company with operations worldwide.
