Production Manager
to lead the end-to-end execution of our seasonal production cycles across major retail accounts, including national chains. This role is pivotal in ensuring that quality standards, cost goals, and delivery timelines are consistently met while driving innovation in sourcing, manufacturing, and garment development. On-site in Midtown. Responsibilities: Production Leadership & Strategy Oversee the full seasonal production calendar from concept to delivery, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer expectations. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot product issues, improve construction methods, and adapt designs for production feasibility and profitability. Manage vendor allocation and production scheduling across various sourcing regions based on capacity, capability, and performance. Sourcing & Cost Management Build and maintain accurate costing frameworks; monitor raw material commitments and optimize vendor mix to meet cost and delivery targets. Lead ongoing analysis of competitive manufacturing practices and identify innovative techniques in fabrication and construction. Partner with design and sales to assess feasibility of derivative products and markdown opportunities without compromising design intent. Operations & Logistics Monitor international and domestic production flow; manage shipping schedules, customs clearances, and delivery tracking. Develop and maintain comprehensive reports to track performance across production stages and identify areas for improvement. Cross-Functional Collaboration Liaise regularly with Sales, Merchandising, and Operations teams to ensure alignment on product availability, order forecasts, and inventory flow. Act as the primary point of contact between internal teams and external manufacturing partners to ensure transparent, efficient communication. Relationship Management Cultivate strong partnerships with vendors, factories, and internal departments to drive performance and accountability. Participate in seasonal line reviews and provide production insights during product adoption stages. Promote a collaborative team environment and serve as a strategic voice in planning meetings. Qualifications: 5–7 years of production and sourcing experience within the apparel industry; experience with high-volume retailers strongly preferred. Deep understanding of garment manufacturing, construction methods, textile sourcing, and embellishment techniques. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities; ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills and collaborative working style. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator or similar tools is a plus. Creative, detail-oriented, and process-driven, with a keen eye for quality and efficiency. Must have costing experience Familiarity with negotiating with the factories (tariffs, price cuts, etc.) Seniority level
