Director of Environmental Health & Safety Hybrid/Remote **Road travel throughout Mid-Atlantic facilities** As a Director of Environmental Health & Safety, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being of our employees, the community, and the environment. Your expertise will drive our environmental initiatives, shaping strategies to meet and exceed industry standards while promoting a culture of safety and sustainability. You will lead impactful projects that safeguard operations and contribute to industry advancements, establishing the organization as a leader in environmental responsibility. Responsibilities: Develop and implement comprehensive environmental health and safety policies, procedures, and programs in accordance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. Lead, mentor, and coach a team of environmental health and safety professionals to promote a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement. Conduct regular audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards, evaluate risks, and ensure compliance with environmental health and safety standards. Collaborate with senior management and key stakeholders to develop and drive environmental health and safety strategies that align with organizational goals and objectives. Provide leadership in emergency response planning, incident investigations, and crisis management to mitigate risks and ensure the safety and well-being of employees and the community. Foster a culture of safety awareness and accountability through training, communication, and recognition programs that engage employees at all levels. Build and maintain effective relationships with regulatory agencies, industry organizations, and community groups to stay informed on emerging trends, regulations, and best practices in environmental health and safety. Contribute to the development of sustainability initiatives and corporate social responsibility programs that promote environmental stewardship and support the organization's mission and values. Requirements: In-depth knowledge and experience in compliance with OSHA, DEP, and DOT regulations and standards. Proven track record of managing and implementing health and safety programs in the field, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements. Experience in developing and implementing safety policies, procedures, and training programs to promote a culture of safety. Strong background in managing environmental health and safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations. Demonstrated expertise in risk assessment, hazard identification, and mitigation strategies across various work environments. Experience in overseeing logistics and transportation safety protocols to ensure compliance and minimize risks. Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to drive continuous improvement in environmental health and safety performance. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with employees at all levels and external regulatory agencies. Proven leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop a team of health and safety professionals. Strategic mindset with the capability to develop and execute long-term environmental health and safety strategies aligned with organizational goals. Seniority level
