Working alongside professionals, co-ops gain hands-on experience by applying their education to real-world projects. The program typically requires two semesters of full-time employment, alternating between academic and work terms. Each co-op is assigned a manager and mentor, working in both office and manufacturing environments, supporting tasks like maintenance, repairs, project planning, and process improvements. Essential Functions
Coordinate material, product, and process qualifications per customer test plans Support product and process development on the manufacturing floor Analyze production data to identify improvements Collaborate with commercial teams on new business opportunities Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
Enrolled at Purdue University in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Aeronautics and Astronautics, or related programs At least one year of engineering coursework completed, with an upcoming sophomore standing Legally authorized to work in the U.S.; visa sponsorship not available Preferred Qualifications
Two or more years of engineering coursework completed Experience with 2D/3D modeling software like AutoCAD or SolidWorks GPA of 3.0 or higher This position may require access to controlled technology subject to export regulations, with possible government authorization needed.
