As an SRE Engineering Manager, you will lead your team in setting priorities, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, and contributing technically through coding, reviewing code, and mentoring engineers. You will be a mentor, guide, and partner, supporting engineers' growth and system reliability. Responsibilities: Develop tools and software to automate operational processes, improve system reliability, and reduce manual intervention. Lead and improve monitoring and observability frameworks for proactive incident detection and resolution. Participate in on-call rotations to diagnose, troubleshoot, and mitigate production incidents. Collaborate with developers to ensure service quality, scalability, and reliability, fostering a "You build it, you run it" culture. Manage SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs to set reliability expectations. Analyze incidents deeply, conduct post-incident reviews, and promote continuous improvement. Evaluate system performance and advocate for cost-effective optimizations that maintain reliability. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience. 8+ years in software development teams. Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Go, Java). Strong understanding of operating systems, networking, distributed systems, databases, and storage architectures. Experience handling production incidents and root cause analysis. Excellent communication skills and collaborative problem-solving ability. Experience with automation, deployment pipelines, or configuration management systems. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure). Familiarity with Kubernetes. Experience managing distributed systems. Prior production experience with Java. Additional Details:

This role is hybrid, requiring reporting to Austin TX, Mountain View CA, or Warren MI at least three times per week. GM does not sponsor immigration for this role. Salary range: $165,000 - $298,800. Benefits include health plans, retirement, bonuses, and more. About GM:
