Job Overview
As a Staff Scientist, you will lead projects and programs to invent, develop, and scale MOF-enabled products at Numat. You will be a technology leader, helping to define and drive Numat's technology vision, innovation strategy, intellectual property portfolio, and product development roadmap.
Responsibilities
Lead projects with cross-functional teams to invent, design, develop, and scale new products.
Utilize statistical design of experiments and Six Sigma principles to improve efficiency and robustness.
Build partnerships and collaborate with peers to identify new capabilities and establish strategic technology roadmaps.
Work closely with the business team to support existing business cases and develop new ones.
Mentor junior staff to develop technical talent.
Improve processes for efficiency and cost-effectiveness through research and innovation.
Collaborate with academia, industry, and vendors to adopt new technologies.
Contribute to strategic initiatives and partner with senior leaders.
Publish and patent significant scientific work, maintain external contacts, and participate in professional societies.
Implement and train employees in new technologies, becoming a champion for these innovations.
Qualifications
PhD with 8+ years industry experience in Chemistry, Physics, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
Experience in industrials, specialty chemicals/materials, emissions control, or environmental sectors.
Technical and commercial expertise in advanced materials, especially adsorbent-based technologies.
Strong knowledge of recent technological advances and challenges.
Experience in product development stages from design to documentation.
Ability to prioritize and deliver objectives in a fast-paced environment.
Leadership and collaboration skills in cross-functional teams.
Creativity, initiative, and problem-solving skills.
Commitment to mentoring staff and talent development.
Excellent communication skills, able to simplify complex information.
Experience with JMP, Minitab, R, or other statistical software.
