Job Description Cloud Engineer - Site Reliability Engineer Fathom is actively working with customers to assess and migrate IT systems to cloud-based environments (Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, and others), as well as procuring and implementing new technologies to replace legacy systems. The Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) is responsible for a broad range of application portfolios and technologies, maintaining close relationships with technology vendors, system owners, the Information System Security Officer (ISSO), and other stakeholders to ensure applications and services meet security requirements and comply with evolving US Government regulations, NIST cybersecurity standards, VA information security policies, and industry best practices. Prior experience as an SRE, especially with AWS platforms, is required. Must have an active VA clearance. Salary Range: $120,000 - $150,000, based on experience. Location: REMOTE Responsibilities Design and manage complex engineering and integration of application, security, and infrastructure architecture. Analyze needs and requirements of existing and proposed systems; develop technical, structural, and organizational specifications. Monitor VA enterprise architecture and systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance with VA and Federal policies. Manage VA infrastructure equipment lifecycle, requirements engineering, and capacity planning. Assist in developing and maintaining infrastructure and application architecture. Identify departmental needs and recommend technical directions. Design and implement system security and data assurance measures. Configure and install software applications for various organizations. Test software applications and systems. Analyze current and future user needs. Create flowcharts, diagrams, and documentation. Develop manuals and detailed instructions for administrators across various domains. Understand infrastructure data movement from point A to B. Collaborate with internal teams and troubleshoot data processing systems, especially related to images and data used for invoices or other processing. Knowledge of SSO, SOA, PowerShell, Red Hat Linux, application integrations, scripting, cloud storage, database design, and data security for PII and PHI data. Qualifications IT experience demonstrating competencies for the responsibilities listed. Experience working with customers and vendors to implement solutions and improve processes. Hands-on scripting and data management experience. Experience guiding junior engineers and promoting knowledge sharing. Ability to work independently, adapt to changing priorities, and meet deadlines. Strong SRE background with AWS experience. Level of Education Bachelor's Degree with 12 years of experience. Solid experience with AWS and Azure platforms in an Agile DevOps environment. Strong development skills in Java, .NET, or Pega.
