Civil Engineering Project Manager

Burrell Consulting Group, now part of MacKay Sposito in Roseville, CA, is seeking a dedicated and relationship-driven Civil Project Manager. This role involves leading land development projects from initial planning through design completion, managing client relationships, project teams, and technical execution. We seek someone with strong relationship cultivation skills, leadership abilities, a proactive mindset, and a passion for delivering impactful projects. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Manage land development projects, including scope, schedule, budget, and quality control. Serve as the primary client contact, maintaining strong relationships. Oversee engineering teams, subconsultants, and support staff. Lead the preparation of site development plans, reports, calculations, and permit applications. Review and approve technical designs for compliance with codes and client requirements. Support business development through identifying new opportunities and proposals. Facilitate meetings with clients, agencies, and teams to discuss progress and challenges. Mentor and develop junior engineers and staff. Monitor project performance and implement corrective actions. Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field. 6+ years of civil engineering experience in land development. PE license in California or ability to obtain within 6 months. Experience managing budgets, schedules, and multidisciplinary teams. Knowledge of local development codes, standards, and permitting. Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and related software. Excellent communication skills. Ability to build trusted relationships with clients and agencies. Additional Qualifications: 8+ years of progressive project management experience. Experience with public and private sector clients. Established relationships with local municipalities. Business development skills including proposal writing. Mentoring skills and leadership in team development. Experience with project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Deltek).
