Job Description Summary

The Technical Leader – Mechanical Engineering for Aero Services ITR (Conversions, Modifications & Upgrades – CM&Us) will support the global fleet of Aero gas turbines and packages to improve reliability, performance, emissions, efficiency, and configuration / safety. CM&U projects vary from small upgrades to repowering entire gas turbine generator sets with latest proven technology. This role executes, leads and/or provides technical direction for mechanical ITR scope on Aero CM&U projects with substantial business impact.

Job Description

As Mechanical Engineering Technical Leader, you will: Provide technical leadership and oversight for a team of Aero ITR engineers to help drive services growth for the Aeroderivative business.

Review scope, cost, and schedule, evaluate risks, lead technical discussions as part of Pre-ITO to ITO (R1-R2) and ITO-OTR hand-off (R3), and assign the incoming CM&U orders to the appropriate OTR team members based on workload and technical ability.

Provide technical direction for mechanical design efforts to develop innovative CM&U upgrade solutions for Aeroderivative gas turbine packages that improve performance, reliability, availability & maintainability for Aero installed base

Collaborate with interfacing teams including but not limited to sales, commercial operations, project management, sourcing, and design engineering teams in reviewing the opportunity contract needs and to evaluate risks. Provide technical direction to interfacing teams as required to achieve business KPIs and objectives.

Lead lean and continuous improvement initiatives, kaizens, and PSRs aimed towards driving measurable improvement in the areas of safety, quality, delivery and cost (SQDC) for Aero Services upgrade proposals and projects.

With a strong focus on safety, quality, delivery, and cost, guide the ITR team through CM&U ITR project execution for several concurrent projects with a substantial business impact for the global CM&U Aero Organization

Be a recognized technical expert in CM&U Aero technologies.

Chair & participate as a presenter in technical reviews (Internal and Chief Engineering Office Reviews), program reviews, and externally with customers.

Effectively communicate and provide recommendations through analysis, preparation and presentation of technical data to key stakeholders and customers, including engineering management, product line management, project management, sourcing, and end customers.

Support and/or lead site surveys and customer meetings.

Support training and development of team members and collaborate with leadership in establishing and driving GE Vernova Way culture in the ITR team.

Promote professional growth through timely performance feedback, coaching and mentoring of team members.

Own and manage KPI's/metrics unique to the Aero upgrades space through daily management to foster business growth and margin enhancement.

Demonstrate autonomy to make decisions within a defined framework and lead other Individual Contributors.

Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university or equivalent knowledge and experience.

10 years of experience in gas turbine and accessories engineering design, NPI, ITO/Applications, or OTR/project execution.

7 years of experience in Aeroderivative Engineering

Significant experience in direct or indirect technical leadership

Proficient English speaker

Must be authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship now or in the future.

Other Eligibility Requirements Willingness to travel domestically and internationally occasionally > less than 10% of the time.

Expected to participate in the Hybrid Office environment.

Desired Characteristics In-depth knowledge of Aeroderivative products.

Master’s degree in engineering.

Experience with mechanical engineering principles, F&IDs, P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Drawings), FMEA, schematics and loop drawings.

Experience in designing integrated mechanical/electrical systems similar to Aeroderivative gas turbine packages.

Knowledge of Codes and Standards applicable to Gas Turbine Packaging.

Experience developing manufacturing Bills of Material (BOM).

Experience leading projects involving multi-disciplinary teams located globally.

Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

for purposes of complying with U.S. pay transparency requirements, The base pay range for this position is$111,200.00 - $185,400.00 USD per year. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a 15% performance bonus. *The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
