Job Description Cherokee Nation Federal Consulting is seeking an experienced Project Management Support Specialist to provide advisory and technical services to the Defense Health Agency (DHA) Facilities Enterprise (FE) program. This position supports military healthcare facility lifecycle projects—from initial design through construction, outfitting, commissioning, and post-occupancy—under Military Construction (MILCON), Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC), and related DoD initiatives. The individual will serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in project management, medical facility planning, and transition execution. The candidate must have a comprehensive understanding of U.S. building codes, DoD and Army regulations, and medical regulatory requirements, with a proven track record supporting mega projects within military healthcare environments. Compensation & Benefits Estimated Starting Salary Range for
Project Support Specialist : $116,000 - $150,000. Pay is commensurate with experience. Full-time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and others as provided. Benefits are subject to change without notice. Project Support Specialist Responsibilities Include Provide project management expertise throughout all phases of design, construction, and post-occupancy of military healthcare facilities. Coordinate with DHA-FE, USACE, Architect-Engineers, DPW, and end users to ensure alignment with project design intent and regulatory compliance. Support planning and review of scopes of work, RFPs, technical specifications, submittals, and RFIs in coordination with government teams. Analyze site and facility operations to evaluate constructability, maintainability, and sustainment planning. Oversee Total Building Commissioning (TBCx) activities, from design validation to execution and evaluation. Support IO&T planning, space programming, procurement, and transition logistics. Evaluate ECPs and make recommendations based on cost, schedule, and compliance. Lead or support construction reviews, change coordination, and documentation tracking. Present briefings and reports to Program Managers and stakeholders; track progress and support audits. Participate in post-occupancy evaluations and help establish maintenance plans. Perform other related duties as assigned. Experience, Education, Skills, and Abilities Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred. 15+ years of project management experience required; at least 5 recent years. 3+ years’ experience with military medical healthcare facilities preferred. Experience with medical facility construction projects, especially within federal or military healthcare environments. Proven success managing or supporting Mega Projects ($2M+). Knowledge of TBCx, IO&T, and relevant codes and standards. Familiarity with TJC, NFPA, OSHA, ASHRAE, ADA, BMBL guidelines. Knowledge of DoD systems, including DMLSS and procurement policies. Experience with BSL-3 labs preferred. Proficient in project management tools and MS Office. Strong communication, coordination, and analytical skills. Ability to develop technical recommendations, manage priorities, and adapt. PMP certification preferred. Active Secret Clearance or ability to obtain one required.
