As an AVP, Mergers & Acquisitions at our strategic Hudson Yards headquarters, you won't just join a team; you'll become a vital architect of L'Oréal's future growth. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in identifying, evaluating, and executing high-impact acquisition and investment opportunities across North America, directly contributing to our long-term performance and global leadership.
What You Will Do:
This highly visible and influential role places you at the forefront of L'Oréal's strategic expansion. You will be instrumental in driving complex M&A and investment projects from inception to integration, working collaboratively with diverse functions across our global enterprise. Your expertise will directly shape our portfolio and market presence.
Your key responsibilities will include: Strategic Project Leadership:
Provide leadership from initial screening through successful closing on potential acquisition and minority investment projects. Valuation & Financial Modeling:
Develop and refine sophisticated financial models, including discounted cash flow (DCF) analyses and valuation multiples, to prepare compelling non-binding offers. End-to-End Due Diligence Management:
Coordinate and lead comprehensive internal due diligence efforts across all critical functions (legal, tax, operations, IT, HR, R&D), Bankers/advisory firms, and potential sellers/buyers. Drive meticulous financial due diligence in close collaboration with external advisors to uncover key insights and risks. Executive Insights & Reporting:
Synthesize complex diligence findings into clear, concise, and impactful management reports, providing executive leadership with actionable intelligence for strategic decision-making. Prepare Senior Management / Board of Director presentations for potential acquisition and investment. Deal Structuring & Negotiation Support:
Collaborate intimately with legal and tax departments to craft optimal deal structures, analyzing the financial, economic, and operational implications of acquisition and investment contracts. Transaction Execution & Closing:
Manage all facets of transaction execution, ensuring seamless closing processes. Post-Acquisition Integration & Monitoring:
Drive the initial coordination of post-acquisition integration strategies and establish robust monitoring frameworks to ensure successful value realization .
What We Are Looking For:
We seek a highly analytical, collaborative, and results-oriented professional with a proven track record in M&A.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, or Accounting. A minimum of 10 years of progressive professional experience, with at least 6 years specifically within an M&A group at a top-tier investment bank, leading professional services firm, or within a corporate strategic M&A function. Exceptional analytical rigor, coupled with superior communication, presentation, and organizational skills. Demonstrated strong attention to detail, adaptable mindset, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and evolving environment.
Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience within the consumer goods sector is a significant advantage. MBA, CPA or CFA designation is a strong plus.
