JOB SUMMARY
The Tax Director is a senior-level professional responsible for overseeing the Company’s tax strategy, compliance, and overall tax function. In this role, you'll define and execute our tax strategy, lead and build our tax team, manage consultants, and partner with stakeholders across the organization to support our growing business. This position will work closely with finance leadership on strategic priorities and will oversee a broad range of tax matters, including U.S. federal and state income taxes, sales and use tax, property tax, accounting close, and financial reporting of tax matters.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Tax Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement strategies to minimize tax liabilities and maximize tax savings, while ensuring compliance with all tax laws and regulations.
Tax Compliance and Reporting: Oversee tax compliance, manage reporting processes, and ensure accurate preparation of tax provisions and returns (including federal, state, and local income tax).
Tax Audits and Inquiries: Manage tax audits, inquiries, and notices from tax authorities.
Financial Planning and Reporting: Support financial planning and provide tax-related advice to executive leadership. This includes ensuring timely and accurate tax provision and financial reporting.
Team Management: Hire, train, and retain tax staff, and manage a team of tax professionals, including outside tax consultants.
Collaborate with other departments (finance, legal, and operations) to ensure alignment on tax matters.
Experience includes advising on the tax aspects of mergers and acquisitions transactions.
Monitor legislative changes in tax laws that may impact tax positions, including tax accounting implications.
Identify areas for improvement in the indirect tax process, including sales and use tax, and property tax.

CPA Certification
Excellent communication skills
Excellent research and writing skills
Strong computer skills are a must
Public Company Experience is a plus
A healthcare background is a plus
