Responsibilities:
Support Barrow Wise's WMATA project and perform duties related to data architecture for large-scale enterprise in private, federal, or state agencies.
Design data architecture principles, modeling (logical, physical: OLTP, OLAP), and distributed computing solutions.
Develop designs for data architecture of custom solutions, data warehouses, data lakes, or end-to-end data pipelines.
Gather requirements from business stakeholders, focusing on agile teamwork, people data, and project hierarchies.
Write requirements for ETL and BI developers.
Prioritize intake, perform cost/benefit analysis, and make decisions on project pursuits across various stakeholders, products, databases, and services.
Design end-to-end data pipelines, conduct security reviews, architecture, and deployment.
Handle cloud deployment responsibilities.
Automate reporting views for management and executives to inform investment decisions and stay updated on industry advancements.
Analyze business problems, question assumptions, set analytics and automation goals, define success criteria, and quantify business impact.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Ideal Candidate:
US Citizenship
Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience
10 years' experience as an enterprise architect using standard frameworks
Enterprise Architecture certification (CEA, TOGAF)
Experience with at least five IT systems in architecture-related roles
Extensive experience in designing and developing Enterprise Architecture and Data Architecture perspectives, especially within WMATA applications
Experience with enterprise architecture repositories and tools (e.g., Abacus)
Proficiency in stakeholder interviews and documentation
Skilled in using Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and familiar with MS Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project
Proven ability to implement IT governance improvements and perform qualitative and quantitative analyses
Experience in the transit industry is preferred
Strong collaboration, mentorship, and stakeholder coordination skills
