GenStar currently offers an excellent opportunity for Senior Underwriter - Primary Casualty based in any of our Stamford, Atlanta, NYC, Chicago or Los Angeles offices. This is a hybrid role. Role Description The Senior Underwriter performs a wide array of underwriting and marketing functions, demonstrating knowledge and competence in both client relationship management and technical underwriting skills. Underwriting functions include analyzing and evaluating complex risks and exposures, and applying a working knowledge of rates, forms, pricing structures, terms and conditions in primary and excess casualty lines. The Underwriter acts in collaboration with a team of professionals within the branch and corporately, leveraging the company’s resources to provide a best-in-class response to our valued clients.
RESPONSIBILITIES: •Expert ability to underwrite large product liability accounts (>$25M sales) including use of loss rating tools, as well as a deep understanding of policy forms, terms and conditions, and deductible/SIR structures. •Cultivate and develop wholesale broker relationships across the nation, creating innovative marketing strategies and sharing intel across the Division. •Participate in underwriting audits and technical training meetings as required.
Role Qualifications and Experience •Minimum of 5-7 years Primary Products Liability underwriting experience within the Surplus Lines marketplace •Established Wholesale Broker relationships with strong client management and marketing skills •Excellent verbal and written communication skills •Strong analytical and organizational skills •Enthusiastic team player and self-starter •Undergraduate college degree
Salary Range 106,000.00 - 178,000.00 USD
