The Uniformed Division's mission is to protect facilities and venues secured for U.S. Secret Service protectees. This position starts at a salary of $75,134.00 (LE-0083-01, step 1). Applicants must:

successfully complete the Uniformed Division Entrance Examination (UDEE) to be considered. If you do not report for the UDEE or fail it, you must wait three months before reapplying and retaking the exam. Only the first test score will be considered. Duties include: Safeguarding the White House, Vice President's residence, and other facilities, as well as foreign missions and embassies. Travel support for Presidential, Vice Presidential, and foreign head of state missions. Enforcing protective duties under Title 18, U.S. Code, Section 3056A. Requirements include: U.S. citizenship Valid U.S. driver's license Age between 20 and 37 (or up to 40 with veteran’s preference) Pass a drug test and disclose prior drug use Carry and maintain proficiency with a firearm Complete training at FLETC and RTC Register with the Selective Service System if male and born after Dec 31, 1959 Appointed under a 3-year limited-term Schedule B appointment, with possible conversion to permanent status Visual acuity of 20/100 uncorrected and 20/20 corrected in each eye Qualifications: Hearing loss not exceeding 25 decibels in either ear Obtain and retain a Top-Secret clearance Use your official name on your application Applicants for the LE-01 grade level (starting salary $73,502) must have a high school diploma or equivalent and be at least 20 years old at application, 21 at appointment. All qualification requirements must be met by the application cut-off date. Experience includes paid, unpaid, and volunteer work, which counts toward qualifications. Applicants must complete Phase I (NCIC, UDEE, APAT, interview) and Phase II (security interview, polygraph, medical, background check). The physical abilities test (APAT) assesses fitness for the job. Medical requirements include physical exertion capacity and mental stability. Specific medical conditions may disqualify candidates. The agency follows strict drug use guidelines. Recruitment incentives up to $50,000 are available, paid over four years with a service agreement. Offers require signing a CSA. Work schedule is typically 40 hours/week on various shifts. Applicants must travel for all phases and cannot have visible body markings (tattoos) on the head, face, neck, or hands, except a conservative ring tattoo.
