Role and Responsibilities : An international manufacturer is seeking an
ASSISTANT CONTROLLER
to join its corporate accounting and finance team.
Reporting to the director of finance, the
Assistant Controller
will lead an accounting team, oversee month-end close processes, prepare financial statements, perform financial analysis, support budgets and forecasts, and participate in system enhancements and employee training initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities Include :
Manage, lead, and develop an accounting team responsible for daily operations.
Lead month-end close to ensure accurate and timely financial statements.
Ensure accuracy of general ledger activity and financial statements.
Reconcile sub-ledgers to general ledger accounts, including bank reconciliations.
Investigate, recommend, and implement accounting system or procedural improvements.
Prepare financial statements such as income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
Create financial analysis and reports, including variance analysis and forecasts.
Manage daily and monthly cash flow and forecasts.
Oversee fixed assets and lease processes, policies, and procedures.
Assist in tax provisions and compliance.
Manage sales tax policies, including filing returns.
Assist with audits conducted by external and internal agencies.
Participate in budget preparation and provide supporting documentation.
Collaborate on process improvements and project planning with the Director of Finance.
Qualifications and Education Requirements :
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; master's preferred.
CPA or CMA certification, or pathway to certification.
6+ years of progressive accounting experience in a mid-to-large company.
3+ years of leadership experience.
Expertise in GAAP and compliance.
Proficiency with ERPs, financial reporting tools, and Microsoft Excel.
High integrity, attention to detail, and strong work ethic.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Manufacturing or international experience is a plus.
