Linux Architect- Low Latency Trading
A leading global Market Maker and High-Frequency Trading firm is looking to hire a Linux Architect to design, optimize, and evolve the low-latency systems underpinning their trading infrastructure. This is a strategic, hands-on role at the intersection of systems engineering, performance tuning, and large-scale infrastructure design, offering a unique opportunity to shape the core Linux platform that drives one of the world's most competitive trading environments.
Responsibilities :
Own the end-to-end architecture of low-latency Linux systems used in ultra-fast trading across multiple asset classes.
Design and implement OS-level optimizations to minimize latency and maximize determinism across a globally distributed infrastructure.
Lead technical evaluations of new hardware and kernel features
Collaborate with trading, quant, network, and hardware engineering teams to align systems design with evolving trading strategies.
Build tooling to support fine-grained performance observability, profiling, and benchmarking.
Set technical direction and establish standards for Linux configuration management, kernel tuning, and system resilience.
Conduct deep kernel-level debugging and post-mortem analysis for production incidents related to performance or reliability.
Guide adoption of Infrastructure-as-Code and systems automation strategies across the Linux platform.
Required Experience :
Extensive experience in Linux architecture, performance tuning, and kernel internals, ideally within low-latency, high-throughput environments.
Proven track record designing or maintaining systems for high-frequency or algorithmic trading.
Deep understanding of CPU architecture, interrupt handling, cache behaviour, NUMA-aware tuning, and high-resolution timers.
Strong scripting and systems programming skills (e.g., Python, Bash, C / C++).
Strong cross-functional communication skills and the ability to influence technical decisions across engineering and trading teams.
