Overview As a GIS subject matter expert, you’re a natural at identifying the right analysis tools for the problem at hand. Join an account team to advise customers on complex business challenges, leveraging your problem-solving skills to demonstrate GIS's value in identifying patterns, trends, and insights. Responsibilities Build relationships by presenting, demonstrating, and supporting Esri software and solutions, gaining access to technical decision makers, and leading technical meetings that drive revenue. Be an expert in Esri technology and Natural Resources industries (oil and gas, pipeline, renewable energy, mining, forestry, agriculture). Demonstrate understanding of sales strategies, organizational workflows, third-party systems, and integration points. Share knowledge and coach team members. Solve problems proactively by proposing solutions that showcase GIS's business value, aligning technology with customer needs. Design presentations for technical and non-technical audiences, provide configuration guidance, and present at conferences and executive meetings. Requirements 5+ years of experience with Esri technology creating maps, performing spatial analysis, and configuring web applications. 3+ years in Natural Resources industries. Broad knowledge of ArcGIS from an IT perspective (hardware, security, web services, cloud, etc.). Experience in technical consulting and solution design. Understanding of sales and business development processes. Ability to troubleshoot client issues related to system deployment and architecture. Experience with geodatabases and DBMS technology. Knowledge of cloud environments (Azure or AWS). Experience integrating GIS solutions with business systems (CRM, ERP, BI, etc.). Programming skills in Python, JavaScript. Strong presentation and interpersonal skills. Willingness to travel 25-50% domestically and internationally. Bachelor’s degree in geography, computer science, or related field. Preferred Qualifications Experience with real-time data streams and GIS infrastructure. Knowledge of digitalization, IoT, AI/ML, and imagery. Master’s degree in relevant fields.
