Job Summary: Kodex is a company that revolutionizes how organizations handle sensitive subpoenas and data requests from law enforcement and government agencies. They are seeking a Senior Data Scientist – Product & Platform Analytics to lead data-driven decision-making, define success metrics, and optimize business performance through data insights and collaboration with various teams. Responsibilities: • Refine ambiguous questions and generate hypotheses through a deep understanding of our data, customers, and product dynamics. • Define how teams measure success by developing and maintaining KPIs and user/business metrics in close partnership with Product, Engineering, Operations, and Marketing. • Lead the design and interpretation of A/B tests and other experiments to evaluate product features and business strategies. • Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to improve the availability, reliability, and accuracy of logging, data pipelines, and data infrastructure. • Build large-scale data architectures and modeling frameworks to identify user behavior patterns, flag anomalies, and surface risk signals across Kodex workflows. • Perform deep-dive analysis to uncover user behavior patterns, operational inefficiencies, and product opportunities. • Develop compelling, data-driven stories and present findings to senior leadership to guide product strategy and business decisions. • Build and maintain dashboards and automated reports that enable real-time monitoring of platform health, product performance, and business impact. • Support prioritization of product and optimization initiatives through clear, actionable insights grounded in rigorous analysis. • Support and guide other technical team members to foster a strong data culture across the organization. Qualifications: Required: • Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of experience or Master’s/PhD with 4+ years of experience in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or Mathematics. • Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python, with experience using libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, and scikit-learn. • Expertise in experimental design, causal inference, and applied statistics, including real-world implementation of A/B testing and observational studies. • Strong data modeling and analytical problem-solving skills, with a track record of generating insights that have influenced high-stakes product and business decisions. • Proven experience working with data visualization tools (e.g., Databricks, Looker, Tableau) to create impactful visual stories. • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence across disciplines and levels of seniority. • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and moving quickly in a fast-paced, startup environment. Preferred: • Experience with data pipeline architecture and workflow orchestration (e.g., dbt, Airflow, Spark) is a plus.
