Responsibilities
nThis job is responsible to ensure that all surgical supplies, instruments and equipment are properly inventoried, decontaminated, assembled, inspected, packaged, sterilized, and traced in a quality/timely manner throughout the hospital. Works independently with little supervision. Supervises others to ensure all tasks within Instrument Processing are completed to meet customer expectations. Qualified to train others. Serves as a resource to other IP employees and customer. Interacts and problem solves extensively with the Operating Room personnel.
nQualifications
nHigh school graduate or GED and three years instrumentation experience in a hospital setting.
nCertified Central Service Technician certification.
n1 year recent work experience in Central Processing
n6 months to 1 year in a lead/supervisory capacity
nSuccessful completion of a vocational program for Central Service, preferred.
nBasic computer knowledge
nKnowledge of computerized instrument tracking system(s) preferred.
nGood interpersonal skills
nGood verbal and written communications skills (English)
nSelf Motivated, able to work independently with little or no supervision
nAble to work standing
