At Clinical Associates , we make being healthy easier. We connect our patients to a seamless system of integrated medical care, which includes in-house specialists in areas of practice, from cardiology to podiatry. We also offer unique services like our nuclear stress testing facility and After Hours Care Clinic.
Our physicians, specialists and credentialed health care providers are assisted by 175 trained support staff. We do our best to take care of everything for our patients - records, scheduling appointments, coordinating with providers and specialists, and each of our offices has laboratory centers for tests and blood work on site.
We are seeking to add an experienced Practicing Lead Medical Assistant to our team! Our ideal candidate must be willing to work in a team environment and provide excellent care and service to our patients.
Shift: Monday - Friday / 37.5 - 40.0 Hours Per Week
Hours Vary / Day Shift 7:30am - 6:00pm (*requires flexibility / evening rotation)
The Practicing Lead Medical Assistant (aka Medical Assistant Team Lead) is a co-assignment that is performed in addition to the employee's primary position with their practice team. The Practicing Lead Medical Assistant performs under the supervision of the Internal Medicine Manager and Internal Medicine Assistant Manager. The Practicing Lead Medical Assistant supervises assigned team members at the point-of-service in carrying out their duties and responsibilities as they relate to the direct delivery of patient care and service delivery, or office or support services to patients, practitioners, or staff.
The Practicing Lead Medical Assistant serves as a reference to other medical assistants as they manage administrative tasks like scheduling appointments and maintaining patient records, performing clinical duties, and acting as a liaison between the medical staff and management ensuring smooth patient flow and high-quality care within the practice.
The Practicing Lead Medical Assistant supports and promotes the overall philosophy of the company by setting a consistent example of exceptional patient care and service and efficiently coordinates and utilizes available resources so as to promote compliance with the company's highest standards for quality patient care and service. Inherent in this position fostering a positive practice environment where professional excellence, staff cooperation, and open communication exist to facilitate productive interaction between patients, practitioners, staff, management, and the community.
Job Duties include but are not limited to the following:
TEAM MEETINGS:
- Coordinates team meetings as needed to inform and train members of the MA Team on updated items or protocols.
- Ensures that an agenda is provided and an electronic copy of minutes of team meetings is retained at all times for reference.
- Creates an atmosphere that is both efficient and nurturing for patients and families.
- Welcomes patient feedback and immediately reports concerns to the Assistant Manager and the provider if appropriate.
- Maintains copies of all communications posted and/or distributed to patients, employees, and physicians.
- Communicates anticipated staffing needs to the Assistant Manager, Internal Medicine Manager, and Internal Medicine Assistant Manager.
- In coordination with the Internal Medicine Manager, Internal Medicine Assistant Manager and Human Resources recruits for vacant positions.
- In coordination with the Internal Medicine Manager and Internal Medicine Assistant Manager supervises schedules and evaluates Medical Assistants as appropriate, within the assigned Team.
- Evaluates work assignments and directs work-flow of Team.
- Maintains time tracking records.
- Counsels employees regarding Leave Abuse and follows through with Leave Abuse documentation.
- Edits and approves time keeping records for assigned Team members assuring functions are completed accurately and timely to meet payroll deadlines.
- Creates a work environment of mutual respect, efficiency, and friendly professionalism.
- Assures compliance of Employees with all Company policies (e.g., dress code and cell phone usage).
- Continually evaluates work performance, identifies positive and negative work performance issues and provides timely feedback of work performance issues to individual Team members.
- Keeps regular attendance; arrives on time and ready to work at the beginning of each scheduled workday and remains at work until the end of the scheduled shift.
- Ensures Team members comply with established billing and processing procedures and immediately reports discrepancies to upper Management.
- Oversees conditions of exam rooms and procedure rooms
- Immediately reports all facility problems to Assistant Manager, Internal Medicine Manager, and Internal Medicine Assistant Manager.
- Responsible for compliance with CLIA regulations in cooperation with Lab management.
- In coordination with the Assistant Manager, Internal Medicine Manager, and Internal Medicine Assistant Manager implement systems to eliminate waste and provide maximum efficiency of supplies and equipment.
- Perform all duties of primary assigned position in practice.
- All other duties as assigned.
- High School diploma.(Required)
- Current registration/certification with an accredited Medical Assistant program. (Required)
- 1-year administrative assistance, medical assistance, or related medical office experience with demonstrated knowledge of general medical office procedures.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Basic computer skills and EMR skills with a willingness and ability to learn new applications.
- Excellent oral communication skills with ability to hear and to speak Standard English clearly and concisely.
- Excellent written communication skills with ability to read, write and spell Standard English clearly and concisely.
- Ability to interact effectively with culturally diverse patient and employee population.
- Ability to convey a positive attitude and project a professional image.
- Ability to remain flexible.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Requires long periods of sitting, intermittent standing, reaching, and bending. Must be able to move freely throughout the facility and be able to lift approximately 10 to 20 lbs. regularly.
