Compensation: $70-80,000 annually with benefits
Job Type 24-Month limited term with potential to extend
Work Week: Monday-Friday with occasional evenings and weekends
BACKGROUND
John Muir Land Trust, in partnership with the East Bay Stewardship Network (EBSN), is seeking a skilled professional to help coordinate and manage EBSN’s partnership structure, functions, planning, and communications.
EBSN is an emerging collaboration of 15 public and non-governmental organizations responsible for land stewardship in the East Bay. EBSN’s purpose is to improve the ecological health of East Bay lands, adapt to climate change stressors, build broad public and political support for landscape stewardship, align regulatory requirements and management strategies across stewardship projects, increase efficiencies, and amplify its collective ability to fundraise for stewardship activities.
EBSN is seeking a motivated and highly independent individual who is detail oriented, thorough, and organized to serve as its Network Coordinator. The role of Network Coordinator is to assist ESBN in achieving its shared goals and purpose. This role provides an exciting opportunity for a proactive and innovative individual who excels in partnership environments and is dedicated to helping realize greater ecological health through authentic collaboration. This position offers a unique opportunity to work closely with a broad range of staff and executive management and gain broad experience.
In this position you will:
Serve as the ESBN Network Coordinator; Coordinate and facilitate quarterly EBSN core member meetings; prepare/coordinate meeting agendas and materials as needed; conduct necessary meeting pre-work and attendee communications to ensure productive conversations; track and follow-up on action items.
Provide support and coordination for EBSN Steering Committee
Provide support and act as liaison to EBSN Subcommittees
Oversee communications, fundraising, information, budget, contract, and grants reimbursement management
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills
Highly organized and strong attention to detail
Ability to switch between tasks in response to requests
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
Working as part of and with multidisciplinary teams
Experience managing grants and contracts
Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively with various stakeholders
Ability to apply critical reasoning and sound judgment.
Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks, changing priorities, and high work volumes to meet deadlines
Ability to work under pressure and tight time constraints with a positive attitude
Demonstrated cultural competency and an ability to communicate and interact effectively with people across cultures, ethnic groups, and identities
REQUIREMENTS & DESIRED EDUCATION
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field; 3-5 years of experience in a similar position preferred
Familiarity with environmental science, lands management, and stewardship
Proficiency in MS Office Suite and videoconferencing technology
Interest in nature, climate change adaptation, and/or resource management
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL EFFORT
Office-based work with occasional travel
Regular use of a computer and other office equipment
Valid driver’s license required
Access to a vehicle required
Occasional lifting and moving of objects up to thirty pounds, sometimes on uneven surfaces, and with stairs
