The Medical Assistant is responsible for providing culturally sensitive medical services to a diverse patient population, including the elderly, families, pregnant women, adolescents, and the homeless. This role involves preparing patients for medical visits, administering immunizations, and maintaining patient confidentiality while delivering high-quality healthcare services. The Medical Assistant will work closely with the medical team and report directly to the Medical Assistant Supervisor.

The Medical Assistant will work closely with the medical team and report directly to the Medical Assistant Supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for visits by taking vital signs and confirming the reason for the visit.
- Perform basic laboratory tests and blood draws.
- Assist providers during examinations and prepare/administer immunizations and medications as ordered.
- Maintain cleanliness of exam rooms and prepare treatment rooms for procedures.
- Communicate effectively with providers, co-workers, and patients, ensuring respect and cooperation.
- Perform general office duties such as answering emails, returning phone calls, and completing forms for the provider.
- Complete non-patient tasks during slow times, including messages, callbacks, and mailouts.
- Current Active Washington State Medical Assistant.
- Current BLS/CPR/First Aid certification.
- Ability to perform basic laboratory tests and blood draws.
- Knowledge of computer applications, EHR, scheduling, and documentation.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, active listening, and time management abilities.
- Experience working with the unique healthcare needs of American Indians/Alaska Natives.
- Experience in a healthcare setting with diverse patient populations.
- Knowledge of pulmonary equipment, electrocardiogram, Snellen eye tests, and audiometer.

- Ability to float between multiple locations if needed

- Parking costs will be partially reimbursed, responsibility for $20/month

Eligibility for health benefits is based on verifying that an average of 30 hours per week during the first 4 weeks of the work assignment has been met. If you meet eligibility requirements and take action to enroll, you will be covered no earlier than 60 days into your assignment, depending on plan selection(s)).
