Are you passionate about maintaining pristine floor areas? UPMC Presbyterian/Montefiore is seeking a dedicated Floor & Project Technician to join our Environmental Services (EVS) team. This role involves evening shifts from 10:30PM-7:00AM Monday through Friday, and every other weekend. You'll be responsible for stripping and refinishing hard surface floors, as well as shampooing carpeted areas to ensure a clean and welcoming environment.

Responsibilities:

  Cleans and sanitizes after emergency spill clean-up requests.

  n

• n

  Change Shampoo to Extracts.

  n
n
• n

  Inspect and ensure that all assigned areas are properly cleaned and in good repair, reporting all problems to the supervisor.

• n

  Shampoo assigned carpeted areas.

  n
n
• n

  Maintain all assigned equipment; keep equipment clean and in good repair, report all problems and suggestions to the supervisor.

• n

  Comply with all Hospital/Department policies and procedures.

  n

• n

  Follow all safety and sanitation regulations, reporting problems to the shift supervisor.

  n

• n

  Remove all soil, wax, and sealer from assigned hard-surface floors.

  n

• n

  Uses chemicals and solutions per department Tech Manual.

  n
n
• n

  HS Diploma/GED OR 1 YR previous job experience required in lieu of HS Diploma/GED or successful completion of the 5-week EVS training program.

• n

  Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in order to successfully complete housekeeping duties.

  n
n
• n

  Ability to use all housekeeping equipment.May in the course of duties be in rooms where medications are stored.

  n

• n

  No contact with medications is allowed.

  n
n
