Truck Driver CDL Class A
Join our team for an exciting opportunity in transportation! Our truck drivers are afforded the opportunity to be home most nights of the week, with overnight travel only one night a week every three to four weeks. Additionally, travel is localized to our store locations, which are in the Southeast region of the U.S. Founded in 1949, Farmers has since become one of the fastest growing furniture retailers, with over 250 store locations. Job Description: Operates a tractor/trailer truck and various pieces of light and heavy equipment to transport merchandise to and from the truck, store, and loading dock. Loads and unloads merchandise from the truck, stores, and loading dock. Performs other miscellaneous duties such as delivery of mail. Conforms to all Federal and state DOT regulations and rules. Tasks require the ability to exert heavy physical effort, regularly involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and/or crawling and which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of mildly heavy weight (20-50 pounds) and occasionally involving handling heavier objects (up to 100 pounds). Skills: Ability to travel overnight two to three nights a week. Ability to operate various pieces of heavy/light equipment to transport merchandise. Ability to exert heavy physical effort which may involve objects of mildly heavy weight (20-50 lbs.); and occasionally handling heavier objects (up to 100 lbs.) Knowledge of Federal and State DOT regulations. Good organizational skills. Good oral and written communication skills. Self-motivated. Good interpersonal skills.
