nJob Overview:
nAs a Periodontal Surgical Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our periodontal procedures and cosmetic treatments. You will work closely with our periodontist and clinical team to ensure the delivery of exceptional patient care. This position requires a blend of surgical expertise, customer service, cosmetic awareness and a commitment to maintaining a positive patient experience.
nResponsibilities:
nSurgical Assisting:
nAssist periodontists during surgical procedures, including but not limited to extractions, dental implant placements, soft tissue grafting, osseous surgery, crown lengthening, biopsies, sinus lifts.
nPrepare and sterilize surgical instruments and prepare dental operatories
nEnsure patient comfort and safety during procedures
nAssist with microsurgery and become proficient working through the microscope
nPerform phlebotomy for L-PRF preparation
nCosmetic Procedures:
nAssist doctor in botox and filler treatments
nEnsure proper stock of cosmetic supplies and materials
nEducate patients on post-treatment care for cosmetic procedures
nPatient Care:
nGreet and prepare patients for surgical and cosmetic procedures
nReview medical history and obtain proper vitals
nAssist in clinical photography
nMaintain patient records and update treatment plans as necessary
nProvide pre and post-operative instructions and follow-up care guidelines
nRadiographic Imaging:
nCapture and process digital radiographs as required for treatment planning
nEnsure accuracy and clarity of imaging for diagnostic purposes
nCapture CBCT images
nUnderstand CBCT basic implant planning
nInfection Control:
nAdhere to strict infection control protocols and maintain a sterile environment
nMonitor and manage the sterilization and maintenance of instruments
nMaintain OSHA standards at all times
nPatient Reception:
nGreet patients warmly and ensure a welcoming environment at the front desk
nEfficiently manage patient check-ins and check-outs, providing necessary forms and
ninformation
nQualifications:
nCertified Dental Assistant (CDA) or equivalent certification.
nPrevious experience in a surgical or periodontal setting is preferred
nProficient in dental radiology with Maryland radiology license
nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills
nStrong organizational skills with attention to detail
